Spring Fashion Link Up!

One post two link up’s, easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Today I’m linking up with two of my favourite bloggers to talk all things fashion, most importantly fashion on a budget!

The gorgeous Raychael from Mystery Case has thrown down a challenge and I am not the sort of person to pass up the opportunity to show off my shopping prowess!

The challenge……..

Mystery Case Style Challenge / Outfit Under $50. Done.

Plus I’m linking up again this week with the equally gorgeous Vicki from The Fashionable Mum for Fashionomics Friday, sneaking style into the grocery budget! Done.

So with Melbourne Cup fast approaching I ventured out a few weeks back to look for a dress to wear. Feeling rather daring (or stupid I’m not sure which yet!) I decided to look for a shorter dress than I would normally wear. Let me be clear when I say that my legs rarely see the sun and showing off my pins is just not something I do. Each to their own, but I really am more of a pants, jeans or maxi-dress kinda girl!

Anyway I don’t know what it was that made me choose the dress I ended up with. The price certainly had something to do with it, maybe I was delirious from too much shopping………

Haha, as if that would ever happen!!

Actually I blame Taylor Swift. She always look so damn good,  I thought I’d try and copy her fab style!! Again delirious.

All joking aside I actually really love this dress. The colours and the pattern are the real reason I bought it. Oh and the netting under the skirt so it poof’s out nicely! I wasn’t going to feature it on the blog until after Melbourne Cup but since I am not going out for lunch, instead having my girlfriends over to my place, I’m showing it off now!

And here it is…..

Miss 13 and I decided to have a little fun with the photo shoot. By fun I mean me trying to get her to pay attention for 5 mins and to not keep laughing at me. All the while having to take her direction with posing!

By now you’re all probably wondering where the dress came from and how much??

I feel like I should insert a drumroll………

Ready!

Temt for a whopping $19.95!

The red peeptoe shoes are Novo on sale for $20 and the headband I’ve had for a while from previous Melbourne Cup outfits! My gorgeous earrings were actually made for me by my lovely friend Carmel and the bracelet is borrowed from Miss 13!

I hope my outfit meets the requirements as some of the items I didn’t spend money on! What’s the point of having a daughter if I can’t borrow from her occasionally. If you are after similar shoes I would try Spendless, Payless Target, Big W or K-mart and as for accessories Colette, Lovisa, Equip or more recently Myer has had some fantastic jewellery sales. For inexpensive headbands or fascinators I would try any of the stores above and also Gloss, Valley Girl or Tempt. Great if you don’t want to spend a fortune.

Here is a selection of head wear from Equip if you’re still looking for something.  All are currently 50% off!

Well that’s it from me,

Have a fantastic weekend lovely readers. If you are going out for Melbourne Cup I hope you have a win and a fabulous day!

See you all next week

    1. Thank you so much Raych and thanks for sharing the post! Don’t know about the pins, they’ve always been a sore spot for me! Slowly learning to embrace them xxx

  1. Temt is one of those places where you can bag something that looks like Review for the price of Kmart. I’m a big fan and your outfit is fantastic – it always gives me a kick to look good for under the price of the cab fare home!

Love a fashion link-up too, I’m new to this game so thanks for putting me onto the Outfit under $50 challenge!

    1. Thanks Beth, totally agree. You really don’t have to buy labels to look great plus having patience to wait for something to be reduced helps to! I’m like you and get quite the kick out of bagging a bargain!
