Maxi Love

Love a maxi dress?

YAY me too!

Summer fashion is one of the few things I do enjoy about summer because lets face it, all those flies, heat, sweating, heat…… did I mention the heat! These are not conducive to looking glamorous in the summertime. Especially with a half melted face of makeup! But pop on a maxi and I’m in heaven!

Today I’m going to share some looks I’ve put together with one maxi dress to show you just how versatile they can be. The dress I’m using I found about a month ago from Valley Girl. It’s lovely and bright and although you may not be able to get the same dress there are plenty around that are very similar depending of course on what you like!

Each of these looks come in under $50 for the entire outfit, madness I know! I’ll be linking up again with Raychael over at Agent Mystery Case for the Outfit under $50 challenge for the final time!

Let’s get started!

Outfit 1

  • Starting out super casual with a simple denim shirt worn over a maxi and tied in front. Add a cute hat and some lace up’s and you’re all set for a casual day!
  • Maxi – Valley Girl $19.95
  • Denim Shirt – K-mart $15
  • Lace-Up’s –  Big W $8.00
  • Hat Gloss – $5.00
  • TOTAL $47.95

Outfit 2

  • Another reasonably casual look. Maxi with tan sandals and a multi coloured bag with some bright neon tassel necklaces!

  • Maxi Valley Girl – $19.95
  • Tan Sandals – Salvo’s $8.95
  • Tassel Necklace Gifted
  • Multi Clutch – K-mart $12.00
  • TOTAL $40.90

Outfit 3

  • I love a POP of colour! I think this look would be perfect for a daytime outing somewhere special. Slightly more dressed up not but over the top. I’ve added a belt to this outfit just to give the dress a touch more definition.
  • Maxi Valley Girl – $19.95
  • Nude Block Heel K-mart – $20.00
  • Belt is from another dress but any skinny belt would work
  • Bracelet & Ring from Colette $5.00 each
  • Tassel Necklace Gifted
  • Bag is borrowed from Miss 13. It was purchased at Temt!
  • Total $50.00

Outfit 4

  • For the final look I’ve gone up a notch slightly. This look would probably be better suited to a night out. When you want to looked dressed up but again not over the top! Or perhaps a daytime wedding or special occasion.
  • Maxi Valley Girl – $19.95
  • Temt White Blazer – $20.00
  • K-mart Black Strappy Heels $5.00
  • TOTAL $45.00

One dress four very easy and achievable looks!

Next up four maxis I found while perusing the net last night. All are under $50 and I have included the shopping links!

Rosie Neon Paisley Twist Back Maxi from BOOHOO $40.00

Annabelle Keyhole Paisley Maxi from BOOHOO $36.00

Printed Maxi Dress from Target $40.00

Helen High Neck Maxi from Cotton On $29.00

Max-tastic, maximum impact….. don’t have to max out the credit card!

Hope you like what I have done with my maxi dress. Peer into your wardrobe and shop what you already have. You will be surprised what you can come up with when you look with a fresh pair of eyes!

  2. You’ve done a great job! I’m loving that last Cotton On maxi and feeling the need to swing by Westfield on the way home…..
