Summer Rising – When Fashion & Art Unite

You know what I love?

The obvious answer would be chocolate but for today’s post I’m willing to make an exception!

Today I’m loving summer colours and feels. Sand between toes, coastal vibes, earthly abstracts and gorgeous fabric prints.

Tuesday night I had the pleasure of attending the bloggers preview of Summer Rising with internationally acclaimed artist Francesca Gnagnarella and W.A designer Jess Pollitt of Ethel & Leo.

What a beautiful way to spend an evening, out on a school night with my fabulous friend Trinity. Arriving early gave us a chance to chat with Francesca and Jess while taking in the stunning view from Francesca’s concept apartment in North Fremantle. Bubbles were flowing along with delicious goodies from Cookie Dough.

The collaboration between Francesca and Jess promises to be nothing short of stunning. A magic mix of bohemian romance and bold abstracts combining to create a range of wearable art and hanging pieces. Fun, visually exciting and a unique way of showcasing both ladies tremendous talents.

With the collection ready, set go next month the official Summer Rising exhibition launch is on tonight. Make sure you head down to peruse the stunning pieces from Jess and Francesca including super cute iPhone covers!

I had a lovely evening, it’s always great to meet and spend time with fellow bloggers. And lets be honest who wouldn’t enjoy a night filled with fashion, art and amazing views of the river ( I seriously want to move into the apartment! )

Enjoy the following photo’s of the preview, I have highlighted my favourites from the night ( Click image to enlarge )

And this!

Yummy goodness!

Mmmmm yummy goodness!

And of course I wouldn’t be a fashion blogger if I didn’t talk about my own outfit!

My Target skirt I fell in love with a few years back, I love the deep olive green colour. And my gorgeous mesh crop top I was thrilled to find on the weekend at an op-shop. I didn’t actually buy it straight away…… no silly me went home, thought about it all night and promptly went back on Sunday to go and get it!

Thanks for a great evening ladies!
