Woops that appears to be me!
I’ve been busy….. yes
I’ve been lazy…..you choose!
Actually it really is a bit of both so here’s a cheeky catch up on what’s been happening with The Style Within
What I’ve been doing…
Coffee and lunch catch up’s with two beautiful friends had my week off to a good start. Always nice to get together with a girlfriend and have a good chinwag!
My sister and brother celebrated birthday’s. We went out for a spot of brunch and shopping, it’s a good thing that there birthday’s are so close together (two years and one day! ). Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
The rest of the week passed by in a haze of washing, cleaning and other mundane tasks. Unfortunately the weekend wasn’t much better as I battled a massive headache on Saturday and spent the afternoon on the couch, missing out on birthday celebrations for my brother in law. Yep it was a big week for birthdays!
What I’ve been finding…
Ya know I can’t pass up an opportunity to bag a bargain and I found some pretty things this past week such as,
- Best and Less Maxi $25
- Kate Hill Clutch $8.25 Salvo’s Store
- Limited Edition Tee $15.99 Ally Fashion
And because shopping excites me probably wayyy more than it should and because I have a *ahem milestone birthday of my own coming up I also found the most amazing dress on sale at Myer! ( more on that and my other birthday outfits to come soon! )
On the blog…
Despite my laziness and lack of blogging last week my post on making over Mister 11’s room was super popular. Thanks to everyone for having a read, I hope you took away some ideas for your own makeover! This week I turned my attention to our office, which is basically my office and so I get to decorate it however I like!!
Hubby being the legend that he is and of course a whizz with the saw helped me out by cutting my peg board down to size. I love the finished product,
I have some really exciting blog news that I can’t share just yet but I will as soon as I can, very exciting!!
What I’m loving…
Surprisingly I am really enjoying GoggleBox!. When I first saw the show advertised I was like ‘what is that crap!’ true story. BUT I have been pleasantly suprised. I’m also a sucker for MKR, I know it get’s a bad wrap and it’s not always about the food but I love it!
I also have to mention the Oscars. I’m a sucker for a glitzy awards ceremony. All that fashion, bling, fake tan and big hair ( and that’s just me sitting down to watch! )
What I loved the most was JK Simmons Best Supporting Actor speech.
This part to be precise…
“Call your mom, call your dad. If you’re lucky enough to have a parent or two alive on this planet, call ‘em. Don’t text. Don’t email. Call them on the phone. Tell ‘em you love ‘em, and thank them, and listen to them for as long as they want to talk to you. Thank you. Thank you, Mom and Dad.”
Because I can’t do that anymore. My mum is no longer with us and oh how I wish I could just pick up the phone for a chat or pop around to her place for cuppa. I know parent’s can be frustrating, god knows I’ll probably be one of them! But once they are gone, they are gone forever so take JK Simmon’s advice and go call your parents….. Like NOW!!
On a brighter note my ‘Best Dressed’ goes to…….
And that’s a wrap from me!
Hope you’ve all had an amazing week. It’s Hump Day which means it’s almost the weekend and a long weekend at that!
