The Month That Was!

  • 22 outfits
  • 8 blog posts
  • 260 km of driving, give or take
  • Countless hours spent taking and editing over 600 photo’s (perfectionist much!)
  • Kid wrangling and bribing…
  • Convincing hubby he absolutely should appear in a blog post (and suffer a barrage of teasing from male friends and admiration of female friends!)

Heck yeah!

Pretty safe to say it was a busy month full of mixed emotions.

I’ve blogged before about how much of a humbling experience it is when asked to collaborate with a brand / company. This particular collaboration has obviously been my biggest to date and to say I was a little daunted by the task would be an understatement!

When I was first approached my initial reaction was ‘ do they know who I am? ‘ and I don’t mean in the sense of me being such a big blogger that of course everyone should know who I am!

More like…… you want me….. really?

But!

I am so glad that I put my doubts aside and told the voice in my head to shut it!

What an amazing month of fun and stress and opportunities. The lovely marketing ladies from Cockburn Gateway Shopping City, Julie and Natasha were so nice to work with and I only hope they enjoyed reading my posts as much as I loved putting them together.

Now for the fun stuff….

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to not only have your face printed into a Fashion Look Book and distributed to just over 69,000 letterboxes ( no biggie! ) but to also hear your blog advertised on radio as part of Cockburn Gateway’s fashion campaign. MIND BLOWN!

Miss 14 came excitedly rushing in one day after school busting to tell me that she and her dad had heard the radio ad on the way home! To know how proud they are of me and how exciting the kids and hubby found the whole collaboration really was the icing on the cake!

I spent A LOT of time walking the malls of Cockburn Gateway and believe me when I say it really is a great centre. There are the major retailers like Big W, Best & Less and a Target with it’s very own cafe! (and the best confectionery department ever, strategically placed next to said cafe) I indulged in the cafe a few times on my numerous visit’s. Add to that a mix of over 40 fashion retailers and you won’t be disappointed if you decide to take a look.

And now speaking of fashion here’s an overview of all the looks put together by moi!

See… so much fun!

I don’t know what I was ever stressed about haha.

Seriously though, I am very grateful to Cockburn Gateway for the wonderful opportunity to be part of their winter fashion campaign. It really was a great experience. I have gained a number of new Instagram followers and like’s on Facebook so welcome to all the new faces! I hope you’ll hang around and share my little space on the internet, I have much more to share with you all! Thanks also to everyone who has left messages, comments and likes on the blog,  IG or FB. It is very appreciated by me and I hope you enjoyed following along.

And a special shout out to Bonnie from Saranac PR for all of her help right from the get go.

And of course thanks to my little family for their unwavering support. To Miss 14 for taking every single photo of me, you are amazing!

Until next time,

Malinda xxx

  1. You did a great job of the campaign, Malinda! I heard you mentioned on the radio too – super cool. You shouldn’t doubt your own abilities – on to ever bigger and better things now x
