Stalker Much!

Grab a coffee or cup of tea and sit back while I tell you a funny story about me stalking men from TV.

Everyone does that right? This was not my first foray into tracking down attractive men for a photo as I may have had a similar encounter with Commando from The Biggest Loser! Luckily hubby is quite understanding and I just say it’s for ‘work’ or ‘research’

Let’s begin!

On Wednesday I headed to Midland Gate Shopping Center to pick up a fabulous new coat I had on hold at Best & Less….

After trying two other stores unsuccessfully I was so happy to have found one. The coat is currently on sale for $40 with limited sizes online, you can shop it here  or try in store (also available from their plus size range)

Anyway as I was wandering around the center trying to avoid as many sales as I could, a flash of black sophistication caught my eye…… no it wasn’t my reflection but it was as I would soon discover one of my favourite Fashion Stylists.

After shopping a bit longer I headed into Target to rest my weary shopping feet at the new cafe and lo and behold there was that sophisticated specimen once more. By this stage I was 99.9% sure of who it was but just to make certain I did what any stalker rational fan would do…….. I logged onto his Instagram feed and found the answer I was looking for!

Donny Galella (Fashion Stylist, Personal Shopper, regular on The Morning Show) was here in Perth to help unveil the new look Target store at Midland Gate.

I couldn’t wait to come back the next day and join in all the fun planned and fingers crossed have a chat with Donny! Here’s a taste of what you can expect….

‘The New Look Target Australia Midland is NOW OPEN! Come in and explore the new services like the digital photo kiosk, clothing alteration service, the click and collect service, a T.shirt printing station a kids play zone and a Happy Lab confectionery area.’  — Midland Gate FB Page

As well as Gift Vouchers on launch day for the first 500 customers (lucky to have scored one!) there was Lindt chocolates, free coffee, Peppa Pig, face painters and my favourite obviously the chance to hear Donny share his styling tips at the free styling sessions. WINNING!

I’ve put together some photo’s of the morning with as many styling tips as I can remember! Some tips you may be familiar with and some may be new, I had a couple of ah-ha moments myself!

Model (gorgeous Angeline from Love Thread!) is wearing Danni Minogue Petites boyfriend jean. Simple black top and boyfriend jeans dressed up with a jacket & scarf or for an edgier look add a leather / pleather jacket Lilly Loves Jacket $59 and clutch.

*Style Tip – When holding a clutch against your body remember to keep clutch under your arm to draw attention away from your hips / buttocks OR keep clutch at hip height if you want to draw attention to what yo mumma gave ya!!

Love printed pants…. not sure how to wear them?

Try adding a simple long line cardi, especially if your self conscious about your hips and butt. For a dressy work look add a jacket and statement necklace.

Love a LBD? A must for any wardrobe….this is the Sincerely Yours Panel Dress RRP $99

* Style Tip – To ensure you get the most wear out of your LBD add a jacket for the cooler weather or try adding a top over the dress, belted to create a peplum look!

One for the lads!

I’m a big fan of layering and model Liam shows how to work this look. A shirt unbuttoned over a tee or add a puffer vest to the outfit too!

One of my go to looks for winter is coming up. The boho / 70’s vibe, here Donny shows how easily you can create a few looks by adding layered pieces to basic ponte leggings and top…

*Style Tip – By adding simple key items like a faux fur vest or kimono you can create multiple outfits. Don’t forget to also add and have fun with accessories like hats and jewellery.

Here Donny shows again how to take another simple skirt and top and create different looks. I love this cute Flared Panel Skirt RRP $89 from the Runway to Rack Collection.

* Style Tip – Tie your trench coat loosely at the back to show off what your wearing underneath!

Last one for the boys!

Suit jacket, shirt and tie and for something different wear chino’s rather than suit pants.

Phew, how great was that!

There were a couple of other looks but my photo’s weren’t up to scratch so I’ve left them out.

After the workshop I did get a chance to chat with Donny and let me tell you, he was an absolute gem! Taking women around the store, picking clothing out for them to try. Answering questions and generally just being a lovely gracious host and human! I did get to contain my excitement long enough to stand still for a photo!

Oh how I wish we could have kept chatting all day about fashion and style!

Well done Target, you did good….. real good!

I’m not sure if all Target stores will be getting revamped but I have to say I like it! I love the addition of the in store cafe and the chocoholic in me just can’t get enough of the Happy Lab confectionery department.

Has your local Target had a make-over? This is the second store in Perth that I’m aware of with this setup, the other being at Cockburn Gateway. All in all I had a really fun morning, had a few laughs, met some lovely staff members and of course Donny!

Hope you liked the style tips, all outfits featured are available at Target.

Until next time, have an awesome weekend!
